Kidney diseases affect millions of people worldwide, including many children. It is therefore crucial that we encourage and facilitate awareness, early detection and a healthy life style.

To commensurate World Kidney Day which fell on 09 March 2017, Rotary Club of Klang in collaboration with the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia held a Kidney Awareness Campaign from 17-20 March 2017 at Aeon Mall, Bukit Tinggi, Klang. Being the start of the school holidays, the event saw an encouraging response from students and the general public as a whole.

This program was co-hosted by NKF and Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang (HTAR). NKF conducted organ donation drive and successfully managed to receive a total of 65 pledges. The Blood Transfusion Unit of HTAR carried out a blood donation drive on 18 & 20 March and 66 donors gave their blood.

The Organising Chairman of event, PP Datuk Dr A.Puraviappan was very pleased with overall turnout and response from the general public and members of the Rotary Club of Klang and Interactors from several schools in Klang who were present to render their support and assistance. He stated the campaign was a great success.
