Haemodialysis Association Klang Selangor is a non-profit community service project sponsored by the Rotary Club of Klang.

Mission Statement

To provide dialysis treatment for the poor and needy kidney failure patients and to promote the optimal health, quality of the life and the independence of people with kidney disease, through patient care, education, and research. HAK is sponsored by The Rotary Club of Klang to raise support to advance this mission”.

On top of that, HAK will continue to foster higher collaboration with the public and private health sector to bring together outstanding new ideas and discoveries.

Management Board

Six Rotarians are elected annually to form the Management Board. The President, Secretary & Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Kiang sit on the Management Board as Ex-Officio Members. Two Rotarians and two Non-Rotarians are appointed as Trustees of HAK. Board meetings are held every month to see to the smooth running of the center.

HAK has received the honor of the following affirmations that acclaim our advances:

  • ISO 9001-2008 CERTIFICATION
    Center received the ISO 9001-2008 certification on 7 June 2015 approval from Lloyd’s Register LRQA Malaysia.

History

The Rotary Club of Klang through its group of dedicated Rotarians led by Project Chairman, PP K. Krishnan, established Haemodialysis Association Klang (or HAK) in Oct 1995. HAK started operations on 24th June 1996 at rented premises in Southern Park, Klang.

The Center was officially declared open by YB Datin Paduka Zaleha Ismail, the then Minister for National Unity and Social Development on 21 August 1997.

In 2006, HAK purchased a three-storey building bearing address No.2630, Persiaran Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, 41200 Klang. The building was named Wisma Rotary and under the Chairmanship of PP Datuk Dr. A.Puraviappan, began its operations on 1st October 2010. The building was officially opened by the Menteri Besar of Selangor, Y.A.B. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim on 08 March 2012. Currently, there are 82 patients undergoing treatment at the center.
